A - Pours a hazy raisin color with thin white lacing and no apparent carbonation.
S - Sweet candy malt and dark fruit. Plumbs, raisins, and sweet dark fruit.
T - Sweet plumbs, raisins, delicate sweet toffee malt, traces of pear, banana\, and light fruit.
M - Thick and pillowy soft body with some warming on the way down.
O - This is a bit of a candied mess and WAY too estery.

Poured a 12 oz can into a Teku glass.
Look: Dark chestnut brown with an off-eggshell white head. Head quickly disappeared after pouring in the glass. I let it sit a little longer than normal to warm up before tasting.
Smell: Tons of bourbon/barrel aroma coming from this guy. Sweet malt, caramel, very subtle biscuit aroma.
Taste: Huge bourbon flavors coming through along with the caramel and toffee sweetness. For 13.6% the beer is fairly smooth with no alcohol burn to it.
Feel: Kinda thin bodied. Decent carbonation.
Overall not a bad beer by any means.

Pours a dark chestnut color. The head is a finger high and off-white in shade. Retention is expectedly bad, and no lacing is left on the glass.
The 16 (!) months this spent in a bourbon barrel is immediately evident judging from the aroma. Notes of oak, vanilla, banana, and even coconut hit the nose like a wrecking ball. There are intense dark & stone fruit qualities as well. This screams English barleywine instead of American - the isn't much of a hop profile at all, and English ale esters are extremely dominant. However, the malt backbone seems a bit lacking. Oh sure, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and chocolate are all there, but those notes lack oomph. Hey, it's still a really good barrel showcase that doesn't advertise any hint of 13.6%.
It opens up with strong flavors of bourbon. Big oak and big vanilla are the name of the game - alas, there isn't much barrel nuance beyond that. And that's a problem considering how dominating the bourbon barrels are. Slight hints of cherries, peaches, raisin, and caramel appear near the middle and finish. As this warms, more toffee qualities show near the back end. Bourbon is dominant, to this beer's detriment actually - I really get the sense that the barrels dried this beer to oblivion, spoiling some of the potential nuance.
The texture is quite thin, seemingly ravaged by the barrel presence. It's a bit boozy, as well. On the plus side, it's not syrupy or cloying at all - for those used to the booze, one could even call it easygoing. Carbonation is pretty low, especially considering how big everything else is.
Lacking the uncanny smoothness of a Sucaba or the insane decadence of a Bourbon County Barleywine, this doesn't come across particularly impressively. It has its share of tasty elements, and it's FAR from a bad beer. But man, I just wanted more from this, especially considering it's the rare BA barleywine in 4-pack cans. This needs some tweaks before it can achieve greatness, that's for sure.

Deep copper color with slight haze. No real head to speak of, but that's no unexpected at this strength.
Very barrel-forward. Has some sort of sour fruit aroma as well, that I can't quite put my finger on
Pretty much just tastes like bourbon, with a honey-like malt sweetness. Booze is well integrated, though.
At least it isn't sticky
A bit of a bummer.
