A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of melons, light pine. Taste is melons, resin, pine, alcohol, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

Welcome (back, sort of) to the CANtinuation of New Oliver Beer Sunday (Week 772), which I beCAN last Sunday & did not have a ChANce to finish. Not only does this further The CANQuest (tm), but it also helps to clear a logjam from my reefer. There really is a modicum of reasoning to this ongoing madness. At long last, we are CANming into the meat & potatoes of this brewery horizontal!
From the CAN: "The Double India Pale Ale Series"; "Long live rock and roll"; "We're honored to collaborate with doom legends Mos Generator on a double IPA full of riffs, melodies, and plenty of hops."; "Oliver Brewing Co. has been proudly brewing craft beer in Baltimore, MD since 1993."
I was SO anxious to perform a Crack! of the vent & begin a Glug that I almost lost myself in the elation of the moment. It was all that I could do to perform a simple slow C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. Having acCANplished that, I watched as it formed just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with excellent retention. Color was a gorgeous Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled like a big ol' bag of piney dank! 8=O Mouthfeel was dense, like something molten siphoned into my mouth! The heat immediately suffused itself throughout my mouth & into my sinuses. I felt like I was inhaling Vicks VapoRub! Tears beCAN to stream down my cheeks in response to this unexpected intensity. At last, I was starting to get right. Man, I have been on a steady jones all day & a Forearm Smash only intensified my agony. This was the stuff, man! This was as close to a hotshot as I have been since a teenager. There was a stickiness to it that coated my mouth with a pine & caramel flavor that was simply unabating. Phew! Dang, but this was good! It totes opened my sinuses & every inhalation was like a cool blast furnace. Instead of being hot, it was minty cool. 8=O It stripped away all of those old, tired and/or dead taste buds that were simply hanging around & left me with a nice, new tongue. CANnilingus? Peut-ĂȘtre. Baby, things beCAN to mellow out & all edges were getting smoothed down as I drank through this little number. Wow, I was getting postcards from deceased shipmates, fighting unfinished battles & gazing into a maelstrom while drinking this one. Look, man, I don't know what to tell you, but this was doing the job as well as a number! Hey, anybody seen my date? Wow, man. She's this little Filipina honey-honey who got me started down this road inna first place. Name's Miriam. When did yinz start doing a light show here? Doll, lemme just lie down in the hammock for a minute, hey? Oh, man, this had me floating on Cloud 9! Finish was right on the cutting edge of dry, with just a tinge of honey malt to keep me out of an OD. Man, I had a lay-down earlier or this might have sent me onna nod. YMMV.
