I picked up this beer because I respect Oliver and the quality of the beers they brew. This beer is a-typical for them, but rises to the same quality as the majority of their beers.
Exactly what you'd hope for in a Strong Ale. Pours with a thin head, light brown. The aroma reminds me or caramel popcorn - sweet with a hint of grain. Taste is malty, color is a beautiful light brown, just the right weight in terms of mouthfeel. Will definitely buy it again!

Chestnut brown, some haze. Thin tan head, retention sucks but good lace
Lots of malt in the nose, as well as some esters: toasted bread, caramel, dried fruits, a bit of banana.
A touch boozy. Taste reflects the aroma. A bit of roast malt. Bitter finish to keep it from being cloying, although it is a little sweeter than I normally like.
Heavy mouthfeel, but that's to be expected for the style. Low carbonation, but it's appropriate for style.
Not really my jam, but good for what it's supposed to be.
