On nitro draught. With the classic cascading bubbles and foamy head pour show.
Smooth and malty, fairly-sweet and chocolatey with abundant hazelnut flavors. Notes of coffee and molasses & vanilla as well.
All this with a faint hint of boozyness on the finish that is vaguely reminiscent of bourbon barrel aging.
An enjoyable Irish Stout that’s not quite as “Dry” as the brewers description leads the drinker to believe.
A great beer nonetheless,

Despite being labeled as a Nitro stout on the can, a heavy-handed pour did not result in the cascading waterfall of tiny bubbles. Still, the body was a solid, deep dark brown while the small lasting tan head left a veil of lace. Coffee grabs the attention in the aroma, even before the roasted malts work their charm. Lesser notes of semisweet chocolate and nuts are in the background. Flavor delivers more of the same rich characteristics that the nose foreshadowed. Earthy, edgy, creamy mouthfeel. A good, locally produced option as St Paddys Day rolls around.

Nitro pint at The Brass Tap here in Baltimore - because it's St. Patrick's Day weekend and I'm Irish-American☘
Black body w/the traditional dark tan head sadly none of the expected cascade. Strong whiff of chocolate as it warms. Roasted malt taste. Smooth medium body. Nice local take on a classic.
