"Dry, tart and lightly funky, this ale is fermented with our house culture of yeasts, lactobacillus and brettanomyces, and is liberally dry hopped with Simcoe. With juicy aromas of passionfruit and pine, Simcoe Groves’s crisp acidity highlights notes of white grapefruit and tangy-sweet grapes. Pairs exceptionally well with spicy foods."

Pours cloudy deep yellow with a big foamy head. Lots of lace drapes the glass on the way down. Lemons and tropical fruit in the nose, some yoghurty sourness too. The taste is tart with oaked chardonnay and lemon notes mixing with mango, passionfruit simcoe hops and some coarse bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with prickly but sparse carbonation. Light sourness in the dry, lightly hoppy finish.
Worth a try. Dry, balanced, complex, quaffable. Great stuff.

Hazy pale yellow with a modest head. Inviting grapefruit nose. Light, fresh wheaty body with a pleasant tang of grapefruit and some pine. Fresh!

Enjoyable, but not as nice as the Citra version, with its bright, fruity punch. The pine flavours don't mesh quite as well. Still a nice beer and I had no problem finishing it!
