Barrel fermented golden sour ale on Twenty Vallet Pinot Noir & Strawberries.
Appearance - Pours a clear strawberry blonde with two fingers of bubbly white head that quickly dissipates.
Smell - earthy, leafy, and floral hops, red wine, fresh summer strawberries, oak, grape musk, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, and floral hops upfront then quickly goes into the red wine, fresh summer strawberries, oak, and grape musk. The bready malts and earthy finish the brew off.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes tart and sticky with the strawberries and rosé wine elements lingering.
Overall - A superb and highly quaffable sour from Bench. This one definitely has real strawberry flavour as I can taste the freshness of the berries alongside the oak. I'm stoked to have tried this rare gem from Bench.
