This is my second visit to the FIVE (V) hopped imperial from Greater Good. Hazy dark orange color started it off, not heavy on carbonation so the head settled quickly but the glass laced to the end. Love the hop/pine slight citrus aroma. It was so smooth for me and I love the excitement on my tongue. No bitterness and only slight heat on the palate. This Imperial from CG is outstanding. Pricey but worth a visit.

A very hazy yellow-amber hue with a tall fluffy cap of 3 fingers.

Fresh, juicy aromas of juicy orange, fresh grapefruit, some herb, peppery yeast.

Total hop assault on the palate - and actually reminds me of a much milder, more palatable version of Fat Head's Hop JuJu. The hop wave is no joke, plenty of resins, bright citrus, tons of hop oils. The difference is, the IBU's are toned down just a scosche. Slight soap. The citrus notes are orange, lemon, and slight pineapple. The bitterness comes from hop oils and pine. The taste fades out on pine and citrus peel.

Feel is heavy and resinous, definitely an oil bomb. Nice carbonation underneath.

Overall, while it's a bit bitter for my palate, this beer really means business. Recommended for those who love hop bombs, however for what the sticker says on the can, "$4.25", it's highway robbery. I'm sure there's better IPA's in the Connecticut area for less.

So let down by this one! I went to my local liquor store who usually has the good, hard to find locals. I was in search of Sip of Sunshine by Lawson's but alas they were out. The beer manager told me to try Greater Good because it was similar. He claimed it was going to 'be the next Treehouse'.

I got the 'V' because they were sold out of 'Pulp' which he said was a little more fruity like Sip of Sunshine. Pulp is an Imperial 5 Hopped IPA at 8% ABV.

I got it home and to me this doesn't taste strongly of pine like Resin does. It isn't fruity like Sip of Sunshine is. To me this tastes like soapy water. It has a light/watery mouth feel and a soapy taste almost like squeezing a grapefruit skin and licking it. Not pleasant at all.

I will say it packs a punch and will get you a bit buzzed after only a can or two. That good mellow IPA buzz ... But the taste is not good in my opinion. I was surprised to see so many 4+ ratings ... Especially at $17 this was THE most expensive 4 pack in the liquor store.

The can also was a bit iffy. I bought it cold and after a 15 minute drive home, it was lukewarm. I put it in the freezer for a few minutes which normally does the trick but the thick, plastic like label seems to make it chill resistant and the can doesn't get cold.

For the price ... Honestly skip this. You'd do better elsewhere. It tastes like soap with a bit of citrus and pine ... But it's such a light, watery beer, I couldn't recommend it unless you are looking for an expensive buzz. It will warm your face.

Tried this the other day as I make my way through the Greater Good offerings. At 8% this brew is very drinkable. Not as much of a juice bomb like Pulp but more in tune with hop focused flavor. I really like the 5 hop variety in this beer instead of a strong tropical juice bomb like most of the east coast DIPA's that have been coming out. Definitely has more of a west coast ipa flavor. Will definitely be enjoying this one again. Cheers!

Copper golden with a slight haze, moderate small bubbled carbonation, and 4 fingers of off white head.

Smells of melons, pears, cherries, grapes and blueberries.

The taste follows the nose. Very fruit forward beer with little bitterness, but very delicious.

Medium body that totally hides the ABV. Little carbonation, but enough to make this brew great.

Got this in Agawam Massachusetts. Drinking in Muskoka, Ontario, Jan 6th, 2018. Excellent brew.

Appearance – Half finger head over a clear, deep yellow body. Expected haze.

Aroma – Juicy grapefruit, floral, a mélange of hop resins.

Taste – Bitter pine and resins.

Mouthfeel – Astringent yet very smooth and easy drinking.

Overall – Pretty good, although the flavor was good it wasn’t as complex as one would imagine by the name.

White peach, mango, honeycomb, orange and a hint of Grapefruit pith. Cracker/biscuit malt profile. Nicely balanced. Lower bitterness. Missing a pop of flavor. It's alright, could be better.

Poured into a 13 oz Tired Hands Teku glass canned on 10/20/17. Pours a very attractive and clear orange with a 2 inch sticky white head, that clings to the sides of the glass like a fat kid does a peanut butter Twix bar.

Smell is slightly dank, apricot, mango, papaya, pine resin, and grapefruit.

Taste follows some dank hops, mango, apricot, papaya, pine, and a healthy hut of grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is big and sticky, nice amount of carbonation, maybe a tad dry, and nice drinkability but a little alcohol lingers on the palate sip after sip.

Overall this is a unique, but tasty DIPA that really keeps you on your toes or the glass in your nose.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Kappy's in Norwell for about twelve dollars. Interesting approach from this brewery, with only double and triple IPAs. Solid, but not spectacular brew here, would buy again.
