And once again, we're back with the 55 Funk series. They're generally all fun Kettle Sours, not overly tart but not too sweet either. I'm guessing the cobbler aspect of this one means it will lean a bit sweeter, but I'm excited to try it nonetheless. Let's dig in
Pours a cloudy brownish gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
There's definitely a tart peach bite in the nose, but the pie crust vibe really adds a nice layer to it. I'm picking up on aromas of jammy peach, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark bread, nutty malt, and light vanilla
It's similarly sweet in taste, but the fruit still cuts through it nicely. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart peach, orange juice, pie crust, cinnamon, sweet vanilla, light lemon juice, and toffee. The swallow brings notes of pie crust, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, jammy peach, and light orange juice
A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a thick yet tart beer. Finishes quite sticky and unfortunately not very refreshing
The mouthfeel kinda kills this one. It's not awful by any means, just too much I think. Oh well
