Contents of pint can are completely emptied into a clear glass liter mug to begin. The liquid is just a little lighter brown than most gingerbread loaves. It's opaque, but there's no glass lacing. The modest and short-lived head was quite lighter, not much more colorful than off-white. Like a freshly opened box of spiced wafers, the aroma of ginger and molasses is present. There's a good cinnamon and ginger bite to the taste and the molasses only makes it sweet enough. This catches much of the gingerbread taste except for the earthiness that adds an additional layer in the good ones. The cause may be contributed to by the thin mouthfeel. It's odd that there's a presence of molasses, yet it doesn't bring that earthiness that those that like it appreciate. So, the finish ends up a little less complex than ideal. Still, it's a pleasant but unimpressive Imperial Brown Ale.

Pours a clear chestnut color with a 1F head and moderate lacing.

Smells and tastes of sweet toasted malt and ginger with a spicy finish.

Medium light body with very light carbonation. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel.

This is a nice flavorful sipper.

I would like to see GG do this on steroids. Heavy, sweet, syrupy, and spicy at 12= %.
