Big issue with only "2" beers/Ipa's on tap that both had bacteria in the lines or other equipment. Flat vinegar taste with no lace at all. Barkeep asked me pay since I put my lips to the glass. Don't go here, go to the Putnam Inn.

This was a few weeks after opening so maybe they were still trying to figure things out.

Walked in and the first thing we saw was a pile of drywall in the corner and a ladder leaning up against the wall. um...ok... why isn't this put away?

We got a table and waited way too long for service and when the waitress finally came over she didn't have menus and didn't know what was on tap. It was a pretty big imposition on her to find us some menus to look at, I guess we should have automatically known what was available to order.

We ordered a flight and it took 50 minutes for it to come. The bartenders were standing around trying to look cool rather than pouring beer. Really? 50 minutes at a brewpub to get a beer? I don't care how crowded it might have been (it wasn't, by the way) it shouldn't take that long. When it did come the glasses were mixed and some had old soap on the outside. Soap might have been on the inside of the glasses as well but we couldn't tell...

Which leads us to the beer. Mediocre at BEST. I have homebrewer friends that make way better stuff. The beer was very underwhelming and I'm trying to be nice. Maybe it was the soap???

Now on to the food - yuck! I was really hungry after waiting almost an hour to get something so everything should have tasted great. I'm the least picky eater of anyone I know and I actually spat out the food. We left - after physically chasing down one of the waitstaff and walking with her over to the machine so we could cash out. If I didn't accompany her I don't think a bill would have come until closing time. We went down the street to McDonalds to finally get some food and then we went to a local dive bar and I was never so grateful for a stinkin' Bud Light in my life.

Now again, this was only a short time after opening so maybe things have completely changed. If not - STAY AWAY!

I was very much looking forward to this visit, when I stopped in a month ago (finally typing in my written notes). I arrived at opening time, and when I walked in, the place was empty except for a couple of employees who just stared at me. The bartender asked if she could help me and I said I wanted to try their beers. She said she wasn't sure they were open yet. I said the sign on the door says 11 o'clock and it's a few minutes after. Not the best way to greet a guest and not a great way to inspire confidence.

The place itself is a very open floor plan and his bare bones. If that is the style you like, then it will be great for you. I don't mind either of those much, even if I don't love them, but there really was no style to the place. It really wasn't a pub feel and had no warmth.

The bartender did get me a flight of their beers, after a short wait while she had to prime the kegs and figure out what thet had, and was very friendly and polite, although she did not seem to notice that I was trying to read and kept talking to me. I even had to listen about how she is the next in line for the Irish throne ( which is odd, considering there is no Irish thrown in there never was a fully unified Irish kingdom, so I'm pretty sure she had no idea what she was talking about).

I will give her credit for putting on music that was more in touch with my style, to the extent she could. It was a pity when the owner showed up a few minutes later and made her change it even after she said the guest liked it. At this point I was still the only customer in the place.

The beers were quite mediocre. They were not bad, and if you live in Greencastle it is nice to have your own brewpub. However, driving in from Indianapolis was probably not worth my time. The beers were not fantastic by any means. Drinkable, and that's about it.
