12oz can. No dating information found.
Unfiltered, deep amber colored body. One finger of off white head, and this becomes a thin cap. Leaves behind some partial rings of lacing.
Aroma is sour toasted malts and a bit of floral hops.
Taste is very malty, with caramel and toffee flavors, with the end getting close to molasses. Sweet overall with just a hint of malt sourness. Has a metallic note. Mellow malts in the aftertaste. Swirl of floral hops.
Medium mouth feel. Low bitterness, even with the touch of sourness. Good carbonation.
The flavors are much better than the nose, and one can avoid the sour smell by plugging the nostrils.

Leatherhead red pours a copper color, with a big long lasting head. Aroma is sharp, big malts. Flavor is sharp, with a nice malty bite, then a very offensive metallic, old bitter finish. Good flavors, good feel. Overall, its very nice looking....

L: Well its reddish orange a bit on the light side.
S: subdued hop and malt but the funk from corn rears its ugly head.
T: Hops seem a bit forward and the malts have the corn flavor coming thru again.
F: thin
O: Yuck I just dont like the off corn flavor of this beer.

Poured a 12oz can into a pint glass. L: dark tan, cloudy, abundant head, fades quickly, good lacing. S: hops and caramel. Yeasty, slight pine hops note. T: weaker citrus notes. A bit of malt. F: body just a bit thin for the look of the pour. O: good beer from a can.

Poured from a 12oz can the appearance was quickly ascertained as a hazy red with a off-white head consisting of coarse bubbles. With a two or three minutes the head a generally dissipated, but did leave respectable lacing behind. The aroma is notably hoppy over a sweet, malty base. The flavor is mild and pleasant with a very good balance of hop and malt character. The mouthfeel is nice, the body is exactly what a mild ale should present. Although not one of my preferred styles, this red ale is an excellent beer and worthy of being served again.

Served in Nonic Pint Glass.
Appearance : The body on this beer is a thing of beauty; it has iced tea hues mixed with tomato juice and blended dark fruit juices. It looks like a healthy concoction. 90% opaque. The head is very large, popcorn colored, and leaves tons of webby lace as it recedes from 3 fingers to 1. A stunning picture.
Smell : Faint, but what I can nose reminds me of my girlfriend's hair (and she's a redhead). Clean, fruity aromas (blueberry, strawberry, passion fruit), with some lightly baked grain malts and open faced cherry tomato. A faint permeation of wetness can also be nosed.
Taste : A weak introduction of yeasty malts gives way to a quick bite of sharp hop. This is followed by calm waves of crushed Smarties, honey, tomato, and strawberry. I like the finish the best, but ultimately the whole thing doesn't really tie together very well. It's three separate entities, and none of them really compliment each other.
Feel : Creamy and dense, with a slight edgy char and a faint pasty dryness on the finish.
Overall : I like the idea here and it's obvious they were going for something slightly different. Ultimately it doesn't tie together and there's some off-notes and bizarre flavors going on. I probably wouldn't buy this again.
