Served in a tall Wiezen glass:
Appearance: This beer poured a solid black liquid with a thick long lasting brownish head.A little laceing to be followed.
Smell: The aroma is of ground coffee, a strong cocoa bean and even a hint of cherries. Not much to this one.
Taste: Like the nose the coffee still reveals itself but a little less obvious, the cocoa beans are still present. The palate detects a faint liquerice. No cherries in the taste.Alcohol seems to be hideing.
Decent carbonation.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel was a little disappionting to me.After watching the thick head stack, I just assumed the liquid would be thick as well. When actaully it was a meduim begining and a thin finish.
Drinkability: For the price and its not so abrassive stoutness this would be a good gateway beer for your BMC drinkin bud.Overall this beer wasnt bad at all just nothing impressive.

This stout poured a very deep black with a nice tan head. It was so dark that holding it up to the lamp would not let light through it. I few swirls of the glass brought back the head.
The aroma was was a mildly fruity roasty malt.
WOW what a taste. The first second is sweet followed by a sharp roasted bite and finishes with a sweetness and hoppiness. As the beer is drank, the hop in the finish goes away and the sweetness takes control.
The mouthfeel is the weekest part of this stout. At best I would say that this is medium body with no creaminess. The Roasted/hoppiness flavor tingles the roof of the mouth long after the last of the beer is swallowed.
A nice example of an export stout. With work on the mouthfeel, I think this could be one of the best stouts I have drank this year. Very complex taste. A more than subtle aroma but not overpowering in any aspect. A fine, fine stout.

Black. Opaque. Sparse off-white head that only hung around the edges of the glass, some unorganized lace. Roasty, coffee-like nose, a faint hint of chocolate is detectable. The bouquet is rather light but a hard sniff draws out the invitation. The palate has a nice coffee/hops bitterness, solidly roasty. The hops become more apparent as it warms. The finish is dry coffee with a bite of acidity. Medium-bodied, ideally carbonated. This is a solid stout, a little more malt and a little fuller mouthfeel would have really elevated this beer. Still drinkable, worth a try.
