12 oz can into North Coast nonic pint
Dark chocolate brown-black with a creamy head of 3 fingers, receding to 1 leaving sparse lacing.
Aromas of harsh metallic notes and milk chocolate, both about the same level. I get slight sour milk and cookie dough, with hints of perfume. Overall it kind of comes off like expired cookie dough and wax crayons.
Flavor is pretty clean for a porter actually, and largely made up of roasted grain with slight burnt toast and very faint milk and chalk.
Feel is very clean, slight grittiness, roasted finish, very mild warming alcohol.
Overall I can respect it for its cleanliness but it has almost no flavor. Pair that with the odd smell, and it's just a miss for me. Will skip next time.

12oz can, tulip glass. Darker brown body, relatively opaque, one finger mocha head, good retention, no lacing. Smell is a bit chalky, otherwise sweet roasted malt and milk chocolate, trace grainy pumpernickel, earth. Flavour is a more sweeter milk chocolate with a mellow grainy sweetness, not particularly nutty, a bit of lactose-ish sweetness, mild earth on the finish. Lighter in body, a bit watery, fundamentally thin with a fair bit of flavour behind it but not enough to overcome the watery thin body.

It looks, smells, tastes, and feels thin. My expectation of a porter is complexity and lingering finish, and Detail has neither of these. This might be okay if the taste was decent, but that is, sadly, lacking as well.
