This is one of the better Wee Heavy ales I’ve had. I bought several other Scotch ales to taste alongside of it and I think this is even better than the Belhaven 90.
It has a reddish brown color, very attractive. The aroma is a rich one, malty and somewhat boozy, but not in an overwhelming way.
The mouthfeel is perfectly matched to the taste, thick and velvety. The taste is what makes it though. Luscious, clean malt flavors, nothing off or out of place. The requisite malty, caramelized notes you expect from a Scotch ale. Good City really hit the mark with this one. I picked up about 10 beers this fall in Wisconsin, and their craft scene is pretty awesome. But this is the beer I’ll be getting more of when I go back.

Dark brown color. Thin head soon disappearing. Low carbonation, reminding me of English ''best bitter's"; your pint is a full pint of juice. No nonsense.
Rich, toasty flavor, with hints of caramel and malts.
8.5 ABV. Moderate bitterness.
Leaves a fresh, clean taste in your mouth. All in all, worthy of the best wee heavy Scottish beers.
