Big friendly goodness. An American-style barleywine brewed with malted rye for a distinct red color and subtle spicy note. Balanced and deceptively drinkable for a beer that's pushing 12% ABV.

Had this on tap at the brewery. The look was bright but not all that rich or thick but the color was nice. The smell was nice with some toffee and barley up front and some spiciness at the end of the sip. The taste was surprising in that it was a little sweeter than I thought but it did hide the alcohol well. The mouthfeel was a little thinner than I like. A good beer that is nicely balanced.

Had on tap. Amber brown body with thin white head that fades away. Smell leads with toffee and rye, but has good barley, booze, dark fruit and cola too. Taste was sweeter than expected, but the rye and sneaky hops balanced well with the sweet toffee, caramel dark fruit, and a hint of maple. Feel is a little syrupy, but medium bodied and somewhat bright. Hides booze incredibly well. The wife like it
