SILVER FALLS – RANGER RED ALE – 5.5 abv
I had this at the west side tap house. This red is similar to brewery in Salashan mall on the Oregon coast. There is dry cedar backbone to the beer with a bit of green apple and melon rind coming out the more you drink. The beer is a big somewhat dry tasting beer. I really liked it.

Look: Opaque amber/ruby red with an off-white head that leaves good lacing behind
Aroma: Slightly toasted bread, earthy hop notes, caramel, freshly baked bread and crust, and some apple skins
Taste: Follows the nose well. Some apple skins open it up before the bready malt comes on strong, with nice depth. Earthy hops follow and caramel and hops intermingle through the close
Mouthfeel: Full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and soft on the finish
Overall: A tasty red ale that checks all the style boxes for me. Bread, malt, earthy hops, some fruity esters, and caramel all come together in balance and make this a delicious and well-made beer

Clean look with big bubbly head. Smells like a scotch ale with caramel notes and a touch of sweetness. Roasty thick mouth feel with well balanced bitterness.

Pint at Fork Forty in Salem OR.
$7.00
Traditional dark amber color. Beige colored head.
Aroma is very nice. Traditional. Has some rather English aspects to it. Leafy, tobacco aromas.
Taste similar. More English ESB than an American Amber.
Great mouth feel. Medium and not cloying.
Goes well with pizza.
