I can't help but compare this beer to CCB's White Oak Jai Alai. Two words "it doesn't" Rather than getting into all the specifics, I'll just say that it's short on aroma, taste and most definitely feel. The white oak is there but not much in terms of added flavor. There is some woody notes but not like the smooth vanilla, oaky flavor I'm used to from the only other white oak IPA I've had. The mouthfeel also misses. Carbonation is a little too high and drinkability is low due to a somewhat unpleasant finish on the beer. FVB did a cedar IPA as well that was definitely better than the white oak. Maybe it's unfair to compare but how couldn't I?
