My son raves about this brewery so I was anxious to visit. It's located just outside the heart of downtown Durham in a small industrial building. The indoor tasting room is modest in size but there is a large outdoor space with fly sheets to block the sun. There is an outdoor misting system that provides welcome cooling and contributes to the festive atmosphere. Given the brewery's location, I'm advised that there are more locals than beer tourists. The vibe was fun. The staff was chatty and friendly. I was very impressed with the beer. I had a New England IPA and an Imperial Stout and both were excellent. I bought cans of the West Coast IPA which is also very good. While the sample size is small, I think the beer is the best of any brewery in the Triangle.

Stopped by the new(ish) Durty Bull tap room last week and was pretty impressed. They hadn't started brewing on their system yet, but had a collab with High Branch on tap that was really nice - a Sour Tamarind Saison. The rest of their 15 or so taps were a very solid selection of other Triangle and greater-NC beers. Sounds like these guys are going to focus on sours and BA stuff for the most part. Two of the partners were working the bar and were great to talk to as well. Tap room was cozy, with a nice bar and a well stocked N64. Based on what they've done so far, I'm definitely looking forward to what these guys get going in the future.
