The Pompous Ass is ok. The bartender described it more as a English style pale than an Belgian style pale as catagorized on BA. I would say it leaned more towards a English style. Anyway...the beer poured a copper color with a off-white head that laced. The smell was bitter with a citrus hop kicker. The taste followed the smell but was more bitter than fruity. The mouthfeel was medium body with good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

The beer was served on-tap at the Orlando Brewing tasting room, and served in a pint glass. The beer is a crystal clear, pale yellow-gold color with a filmy, big bubbled head. The beer looks like a lager. Aromas of roasted hops, light malt sweetness, and smooth citrus. The flavor is a stiff jab of hops initially, followed by a tropical fruit blend of light sweetness, followed by another blast of hops, this time bitter, wet, and darkly strong. Amazing balance and chemistry. The aftertaste is slightly nutty-sweet and dark caramel sweet, despite the color. The aftertaste is syrupy sweet and slightly musty. The finish is lingering and slightly oily.

A-light gold with a thick white head, some lacing

S-smells like very sweet hops. has a bit of a vomit-like aspect to it. its very weak

T-comes in with weak spicy belgian malts and some bitterness. the after-taste is sweet with some slight hint of banana tasting yeast.

M-medium to high carbonation with a fairly dry finish

D-eh, i honestly couldn't wait for this to be over and done with. its an abhorrent representation of any IPA. the name was supposed to be funny, but it describes the beer accurately. its the last time i order this!

A slightly hazed carmel color with a fair off-white head and great lacing. The aroma is a mellow bready nut with a bit of citrus hop. The flavor mimics the aroma but with more of a hop bite. There is a wheat note, almost a hint of rye. The bitterness seems to build in intensity but it stays reasonably drinkable. Nicely carbonated with a smooth feel, good quality, a very safe choice for the IPA lover. Worth trying.

The aroma is hoppy with citrus and some malt and yeast. The appearance is blond with an average head. The taste is like the aroma and not as weak as some I have tasted from this brewer. The palate is also not as thin as some from this brewer. Overall this is a very drinkable beer and not overly astringent.

A clear, gold body with a large head that left lacings running down the glass. Smell had a large amount of hops to it. Varied fruit tastes, not just citric, and hints of malty sweetness. Still had a dry edge but overall smooth and went down well. Great beer.

Quaffed a 10oz pilsner glass of this (served in a smaller glass because of the <high> 7% alcohol.

This was one different IPA; a clear sunshine yellow pour with a foamy white head was the first attention getter. Then the aroma and taste were more along the lines of a big malt beer versus an IPA, but still a tasty brew that finished fairly well balanced. A bit of fruity goodness in it pushes it to the Belgium IPA side instead of the American version. Good stuff!
