2016, aged for 8 years. Excellent.

The only thing so far that OBP has done for me on a barrel-age scale but a 12oz bottle is like $45 dollars. They set their own prices apparently.

Went to the brewery for the 2013 tasting of this beer that was brewed back in 2008. They will continue to have periodic tastings until it is all gone.

A - Very dark brown - like root-beer soda

S - Molasses, dates

T - Cherry on the front, then molasses, and licorice in the aftertaste. As it warmed up noticed black pepper, toffee and dark fruit.

M - Syrupy, creamy. Lacks carbonation

O - A pretty easy drinking barleywine. They are now charging $30 for each 12oz bottle at the brewery. The predominant molasses and lack of carbonation would make me not bother trying it again.

 

Served from a vintage 2008 bottle, stamped April 7th, 2008.

A: A dark brown with slight reddish hue if you hold it up in the light.

S: Raisins, dates, and someone I was drinking it with suggested Worcester sauce, which I didn't get until he said it.

T: The taste here is pretty smooth for an 18% barleywine. I can only assume it's because of the fact this was aged for 3 years. There's a big raisin and vanilla note up front but this beer finishes with a really nice smooth bourbon note.

M: Syrupy, not a lot of carbonation, similar to an Old Ale. Still very smooth to drink.

O: An extremely smooth and excellently aged Barley Wine. Brewed in honor of the 75th year after prohibition ended. This was an extremely unique beer, and being completely USDA Organic, it also had a very unique flavor. I would definitely recommend this to Barley Wine fans.

Chocolate in color, Anisocoria has big notes of malt and dark fruit complimented by toffee and a bourbon character on the back end. As smooth as it is complex, Anisocoria doesn’t have the feel of a beer with an 18% ABV, and friends of mine who aren’t normally barley wine drinkers found it quite palatable.

Poured into a Duvel tulip, pours black and flat, no head, at all, not even a little.
The nose is dark bread soaked in boozes and raisins, with some oxidation in the back there.
This is not an American barleywine, its definitely in the English style. The taste is deep and complex, lots of the bread and fruit notes that the nose suggests, with some toffee, and bourbon flavors as well. On the mid palate i get a lot of roasty notes that are almost stout like. The finish is bitter and a bit alcoholic. The bitterness seems to be from the roasted malt and not hops though. No hops at all really, but its good without em. This beer is pretty good.
Having said all that its not worth the 20 bucks i paid for it. Its no Thomas Hardy's or even a blithering idiot. Don't get me wrong, its damn good, and if it was cheaper, i would snatch up several bottles, but at this price point i can live without it.
