Mid sized place right on the town square, we found easy parking right in front, and the town seemed to be deserted.
Rectangular place with nice wood floors and lots of exposed brick. No food available and the Italian place that was mentioned as being next door was closed, so there is that issue.
Hate to say it but the female bartender was down right surly...seemed she was not happy at all to be there...I know its not all unicorns and rainbows, but this is a service industry and I assume a good chunk of her income comes from tips....maybe she was just having a bad day, and she did seem to be the only staff working, but I wouldn't mention it unless it was pretty bad....( we left her a good tip anyway!)
Anyway we stayed for a beer, it was fresh and tasty....40 options on tap, lots of worthy options and also a full bar available. There also was a good sized separate room that they must use when real busy or for private events.

For Lincoln, Illinois, there's no better spot. On the square in a large space. Several tables to sit at and a large bar area.
No food from the bar but, you can order from the Italian place next door. Many drafts to choose from and several cans/bottles in a reach-in fridge. My go-to was Hawaiian Shirt Day from Triptych Brewing. Several other breweries on tap from Illinois that don't make it to Chicago. Bartender was very happy to let us sample and came out to our table. Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely stop in!

Cool little place in downtown Lincoln IL, right by the domed Logan co. government building.
Small windowed entrance, narrow space that widens in the back with a shared patio with Guzzardo's. an Italian restaurant. Brick walls inside, long bar on the right with tables toward the back. Large chalkboards listing drafts behind the bar.
16 drafts included Weihenstephan Hefe, Founders Lizard of Koz, Timotheus Bros. AnniOne Milk Stout, St. B Abt 12, Daisy Cutter, Scrimshaw, and more. Pretty good variety of styles. To-go cooler held maybe 50 single options. Prices were a little high for retail singles, more like bar prices. $5/ea. for the 2 singles I picked up. I think it's more of a grab something from the cooler to drink at the bar kind of setup than a store, but they do sell to-go.
Staff greeted me and helped me out right away. They gave me a 4-pk holder and bag for the beers I bought.
I've heard they might start a brewery here in the future. Makes a good pit stop off I-55, Blue Dog Inn is a good lunch spot nearby, or you can order Italian/pizza from Guzzardo's next door. Support a small independent business bringing craft beer to a town with few other options.
