16oz can dated 5/16/2020. Pours with an enormous head of café au lait color. Had to let the head settle down repeatedly to fill the glass. Nearly black with a touch of brown. Silky smooth texture. Dark chocolate, hint of prune with a slight hop bite. 9.1% alcohol barely detectable. Minimal lacing. A well put together brew.

a very impressive imperial stout here, rich and complex, perhaps objectively the best beer we had in here, and one to be proud of for sure for these guys, really layered and nuanced and distinctive. lots to like about this one, the well hidden alcohol keeps it sipping smoothly, the roast on the grain is deep but not bitter at all, so there is a lot of room for the deep middle tones here of dark chocolate, high end cocoa, espresso crema, and rum raisin, all in a silky full almost creamy textured stout. there has to be some english yeast or something here too, its not a totally neutral fermentation profile, but i cant quite place it with all the dark flavors swirling around in here, but it seems to unify the whole thing really nicely. subtle wood and honey notes in here, brown sugar too but i didnt find this all that sweet, maybe a trace of smoke, almost like its had some barrel time, but i dont think it has. impressive complexity here, really well polished recipe and execution, a stand out even. i was pretty keen on all the beers we had here at their taproom, and think they have a pretty bright future ahead of them. this stout is fire, no frills either, awesome!
