SpillAle

SpillAle is a small pub in the heart of Caserta's nightlife region, and only a few steps from the Regia, the region's Unesco Heritage site. The barkeep is the brewer/owner, and jack of all trades. He serves 5 or so draft beers, and a number of bottles, split between his own brews and some great selection of European and American beers. How many places can one find both Stillwater and Thornbridge beers? Now think, in Italy? This place is the real deal. The house IPA is easily teh best IPA I've had on the continent. SpillAle is a hop forward brewery, that still manages to make excellent belgian inspired beers and some great Italian beers. I delighted in the SpillAle Italian Grape Ale, when I sampled it on draft. The bottling yeast colored to bottles I took home to my wife a bit more than I appreciated. They also make a very grappa flavored, grappa beer. I'm not huge into grappa, and may actively dislike it - but to exercise the obvious cliche "when in rome"...
