Taps Brewery

Checking out new breweries in different countries I visit is always a treat and to find Taps in Shenzhen, China adds to this wonderful journey I have been on. Posting up at the bar, I was able to speak to one of the American partners, speaking my language both linguistically and culturally about the beers on tap as well as the direction of craft breweries in this part of the world.

As is usually the case with new visits from my end, I went with the Sampler Platter, enjoying six different taps, including a Nitro. IPA! Service was incredible, and something I am hoping to experience more of; efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I didn't try the food, but if everything goes according to plan, I will be back to see if the plates pair as well with the glasses as the beers did with my mind.

Oftentimes it is better to check out these new places than it is to hit the neighborhood haunt, as they offer perspective on the local in which they reside. Who would have thought I could get such good beer in such a friendly environment on the China/Hong Kong border; surrounded by dynamics which would make that place in Portland, Oregon cry, yet with beer which could easily go toe-to-toe...
