On-tap served in an Est.33 pint glass at Hugo Bar & Eatery, Bangkok.

Hazy copper color with decent off-white head, average retention, it dissipates to long-lasting bubble sheet atop along with some lacing patch.

Grain, biscuit, toasted grain, mild fruity, some floral, and yeast acidic in a nose.

Slight sweet, big grainy and bready equally with some toasted, acidity of yeast, hop is quite absence with only mild fruity note.

Light to medium body with lively crisp carbonation, semi-smooth mouthfeel, dry and clean finish.

Not that bad, easy to go and good pairing with spicy cuisine.

.5 litre glass on-draught @ the brewpub. Cost was 220 baht.

Copper ale. 4-4.5% ABV.

A: 3cm head of off-white colour. Horrid (30 second) retention. Leaves messy lacing as it recedes.

Body colour is a murky copper. Translucent; nontransparent. No yeast can be seen within.

Sm: Vague fruit imparted by hops. Hop resins. Pale malts. Pine sap.

Aromatic intensity is average.

T&Mf: Biting, sharp overcarbonation is instantly perceived. Pale malts, a hint of potential diacetyl (via rather faint buttery character), and vague weak fruit.

Smooth and wet in the palate with a medium-bodied texture. Not oily, gushed, hot, astringent, or boozy.

There's no harmony of texture and taste here, with the rampant overcarbonation really restricting drinkability.

Flavour profile is somewhat cohesive, but far from exceeds the sum of its parts.

O: Easily one of the better beers I've had in my month in Thailand, which is testament as much to the low quality of Thai beers as it is to their scarcity. Not a beer I'd revisit at its obscene price, but not a bad copper ale all things considered. If you must have a Thai beer with actual flavour while in Bangkok no matter the price, this is amongst the best of your limited options, but so long as you're overpaying, why not just get an import? Drinkable but unremarkable fare.
