Pours a hazy, deep orange coloration with a small, fizzy head that soon fades to nothing. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus, tropical and lighter berry hops, with notes of lime peel, guava and white grape. Taste is a great balance of rather light biscuity malt and vibrant, juicy, zesty and slightly acidic hops, with fruity citrus, tropical and berry notes of grapefruit, lime peel, guava, mango and white grape, with just a hint of dankness as well. Finishes with a ligh bitterness and acidity, as well as some lime peel, guava and white grape lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation.
I always say that you can judge a brewery best by the quality of their TIPA and while this may be just a tiny tad too sweet and boozy, it's really not too bad at all, while also featuring some rather vibrant and well-defined hops, with the Motueka clearly dominating here with a distinct, zesty lime presence, as well as lighter tropical and berry notes, with some dank accents as well. I just love NZ hops and they are featured very nicely here indeed, with some rather zesty citrus and lighter sweet tropical and somewhat acidic berry notes lending quite a refreshing, semi-dry character to this.
