Nice solid stout. Dark opaque pour with good dense head. Sweet nose of chocolate. Small bitterness initial taste that follows with creamy cocoa/malt.

i liked this one a lot better than the scotch ale they do, not that its not good too, but this is way more original and at the same time equally well done. it has a nice blackness about it, malty char and some dark cocoa too, some flavorful grain sweetness in the center, and a resolved finish that even has a little yeash character to it. if the sweetness turns you off, stay with it, it comes around before too long, and despite having notes of chocolate, marshmallow, and even caramel sauce, it works itself out in time. i like all the body and oddly enough i like the initial sweetness of this one, its flattering with all the ark grain present there as well, and its somewhat bubbly for the style, made lighter than it really is because of the feel, and sort of a black ale before its a stout in that way, insofar as one can reasonably differentiate. its silky but kind of bigger feeling for its strength, but seems weller made than some of their others, despite it seeming a little sweet and not all the way finished, its good for sure, and something neat from a brewery i hadnt heard of before. montana is really coming along...
