Stopped here on 2017-07-08 during the Marietta bike race. Had their pale ale and an excellent BBQ sandwich, coleslaw and ear of corn for $10 during their pig roast for the race.

I visited this brewpub while in Middletown for the holidays. My brothers and I made the 25 minute trip down 441 and found the pub easily right alongside the rail tracks. We parked on the street and there was plenty of room for cars in the area. Walking up to the pub there is a patio area with several deck chairs and small tables, probably a decent place to hang out in the summer time, not so much in December. Walking in, this is a fairly small bar area. there is a long bar with about 12 or 14 stools right in front a few booths against the right wall, and several table and chair combos through out the room. Also several big TVs which had a college bowl game on during or visit. Tap list is on a tv and gives info about each beer with 5 house beers and a few guest drafts on tap during out visit. House beers were an imperial stout, rauchbier, scotch ale, black ale, and a pale ale. Some guest taps were craft but there was also miller lite and yuengling among some others. There are also some coolers with an extensive bottle selection. Brewing equipment is not visible and the general feel is local watering hole. with some nice stone walls on the interior.
Bartender is very friendly and proudly announces they brew their own beer. I grabbed a black ale, my brother did the rauchbier and my other brother did a flight. I went with the imperial stout for my second beer. No food, but typical pub grub seems to be the menu. Wings kept pouring out of the kitchen to the patrons and they did smell good. The beers were average with the imperial stout and scotch ale as the best. I was disappointed with the black ale as I found it kind of bland with neither roasted malt notes nor much hop profile. The imperial stout felt pretty good and was dark and fairly roasty and the abv was very well hidden. Maybe they do bigger beers better? We didnt growler anything and called it a night. I know this is a pretty new place and they were very nice during our visit. The beers didnt blow me away, but I would stop in again to try another brew around their one year anniversary, but I dont think I would drive here as a destination from too far away. Makes a nice spot as a local bar and the bottle selection is pretty good, hope they can ramp up the house beers as they get their system humming along.
