Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a medium brown color with a one finger head of off white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a trace bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a roasted malt smell mixed with some caramel and molasses sweetness. Along with these smells comes a little bit of nut and herb.
Taste – The taste is rather light, with some roasted malt and a bit of caramel. As the taste advances the roasted flavors remain lighter all while some molasses joins the caramel to bring a little bit more sweetness. Some nut and an almost musty like grassy and hay flavor come at the end of the taste, leaving one with a somewhat off flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness with a carbonation level that is average. Overall the feel is alright for the mix of light roast and sweet and makes for an easy sipper.
Overall – Not really a great scotch ale overall. Way too thin and weak, and not really a pleasant taste profile. I will not go back to this one again.
