Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The brew pours a lightly hazed golden amber color with a tiny white foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma of the brew is strongest of a slightly sweeter confectioners and candied sugar smell mixed with some cracker malt and a bit of clove. At the same time there aromas of honey and coriander as well as a bit of yeast and a touch of apricot and peach.
Taste – The taste begins with a cracker malt base flavor matched by a light sweetness of peach, apricot, green grape, and honey. As the taste advances some spice and yeast become more pronounced with both coriander and clove notes as well as some light flavors of honey and pear. Toward the end, there is a touch of herbal and hay, and with a bit of a loss of some of the sweet, one is left with a drier set of flavors to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is low. For the style and the flavors a higher carbonation would have certainly been better, creating a more refreshing and effervescent sipper.
Overall – An OK blond. The dryness of the flavors was nice, but the mouthfeel sorta detracted from it. May be better on tap.
