This beer pours a light orange with a dim cloudiness and smooth white head. The smell is exceptionally strong in wheat and has a powerful over ripe banana smell crossed with rubber. The flavor is a contrast of two flavors. The first is one of the most incredible malted wheat flavors I’ve ever come across in an American weizen It’s very delicate, yet pronounced. The tragic flavor that this is pared with is a ridiculous banana and bubblegum flavor that is almost a travesty of a weizen. A new yeast strain is direly needed here. There’s a lot of potential here. maybe next year, a correction in yeast could yield a champion of American weizens. The mouth feel is mildly carbonated and smooth. Over all, I can only rate this beer on what it’s potential could be if a different yeast strain was used. Disappointing, but I’ll try it again next year.
