From the growler in a snifter. This fine BBA barley wine
pours a dark yet lightly luminous mahogany with a very nice
head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer,
and sports some light lacing. Nose of bourbon, oak, dried cherry,
dried cranberry, dates, brown sugars, and vanilla. Flavors are explosive!
Dried cherry, cranberry, and raspberry drenched in brown sugars, and then
given a second soak in bourbon with notes of vanilla and oak layered over
toffee. Mouth feel is medium, smooth a silk, rich as the day is long, warming,
and finishing sweet and moderately dry.

Overall----I stick with my original opinion of this brewery and move the marker up!
Best brewery in Cincinnati!

Cheers

Purchased a bottle of this beer during my latest visit to Cincinnati.

Poured into a tulip glass. Beautiful reddish mahogany color with a short beige head and. nice curtain lacing. Boozy caramel smell and taste. Warm, comforting beer with a rich taste and feel. Nutty and nicely bitter. Not too sweet. Toffee and hint of dark chocolate. Definitely better as it warms. Excellent beer to enjoy on the veranda on a coolish evening! This brewery does big beers very well!

Look - great looking barleywine! dark reddish brown with a nice tan head and lacing
Smell - Caramel grain boozy
Taste - Ton of wood followed by caramel and a little stone fruit and vanilla but nicely without being sweet with a slight toast taste
Feel - Creamy medium full dry body
Overall - Really great barleywine!
