From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter via the brewery. This beefy BBA barleywine pours a
muddled brown with a thin head of off white foam that sizzles away to nothing but
has some decent legs with a swirl. Nose of bourbon, oak, vanilla, fig, date, toffee,
orange zest, and rich caramel. Flavors follow the nose with some additions. Waves
of mellow bourbon, vanilla, oak, toffee, dates, figs, plum preserves, vinous port nuances,
orange zest, and subtle cinnamon on the rear with faint herbal hops. Mouth feel is
medium, smooth, rich, warming, faint carbonation, and a sweet but not cloying
finish that is exceptional!
Overall, a stunner from this fine brewer!
Cheers
