.5L pour on-draught @ the brewpub for 48000 VND.
Pours an off-white cap over a turbid pale copper body. Head lasts 4-6 minutes, leaving coating lacing as it recedes. Translucent. Nontransparent. Looks unfiltered.
Vitaminy yeast. Pilsner malts. A hint of buttery character. No Saaz/Noble hop character. Seems sweet for the style, but tolerably so. I think I notice some kellerbier-esque faint unbunged oxidation. Aromatic intensity is average.
T&Mf: Matches the aroma, but it's weak, shallow, watery and imbalanced - featuring far too much buttery sweetness. Not unrefreshing, and the vitaminy yeast is nice; I doubt this is pasteurized. For a Czech style lager, it's rather lackluster.
Drinkable if pricey by Vietnamese standards. I wouldn't order another, but not terrible and there aren't any egregious faults. I'd sooner spring for a cheaper canned Vietnamese lager, to be honest. As a side note, I could see this being highly inconsistent in terms of quality on-draught.
High D (2.24) / NOT RECOMMENDED
