Tsar Czar Tzar...no matter how you spell it, this is a great beer!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a huge light brown head with excellent head retention and thick bands of lacing on the glass. Remarkable in that this year's version weighs in at 10% .abv!!!! The color is dense black with no light coming through. Aroma and taste include rich bready malt, some chocolate and, to a lesser extent coffee. Some RIS have a vinuous (port wine) aspect to them, but this one don't. The aroma and taste are very good and rich, just what you would want in a strong stout. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth. There is very little alcohol presence detectable and no alcohol burn. You could sip this beer comfortably till the high .abv does it's thing!!! An excellent stout!!!
