There doesn't appear to be a date on the can or label.
Appearance: The beer sprayed out of the can when opened, so be careful. It appears to have been overfilled too because thee liquid is sitting at the level of the opening. The head is massive when poured so it seems like it could be over-carbonated as well. The head is mostly creamy textured but if fizzes and pops creating craters on the surface. It has a black body. The head retention is pretty good but it leaves no real lacing.
Aroma: There is a light bit of a chocolate scent and a roasted grain aroma. A bit of coffee comes through.
Taste: Coffee character comes through up front. There are notes of dark cocoa near the center of the mouth and it gets stronger near the back of the palate. A bit of roasted grain flavor comes through with a light acrid touch. It has a light coffee-like aftertaste. There is a bit of a minty aftertaste that builds after a while.
Mouthfeel: It has a body that rests on the lower edge of medium. It has a low roasted grain bitterness. It's an easy beer to drink.
Overall: The label states that this is a "HONEY BROWN ALE" and that it is "BREWED WITH HONEY MALT." The honey malt flavor doesn't come through at all, but there is a nice chocolate flavor to the beer. As an American Brown Ale it does alright but it seems to drift closer to the Porter category. As a whole it is a good beer but it doesn't live up to its namesake. I would still recommend the beer because it's good and I would drink it again, but I wouldn't recommend it to somebody looking for that sweet honey malt flavor.

Appearance: Very dark brown (with a little bit of red) draft into a pint glass. Dirty tan head 1cm tall that dissipated quickly. Good lacing.
Aroma: Roast, chocolate.
Taste: Bitter roasted malt. Coffee. Chocolate. Honey and toffee sweetness.
Feel: Not too thick, a little creamy. Medium carbonation that compliments it well.
Overall: Great beer if you are into the style. Sit back, relax, and sip through it.

Very good Brown Ale!!!! Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a dense brown body with some ruby red light coming through and a big dark tan/light brown head with good retention. Good lacing on the glass too!!! Aroma and taste are nutty, malty and slightly sweet, The flavor is very good, not at all bland like so many Brown Ales. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth with a hint of bitterness. A bit strong for a session beer, but I would gladly nurse a few pints with friends and good conversation!!!
