11Eleven Fest 2018 “THIS ONE GOES TO 11” is a 11% Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Sweet Stout for those who TAKE IT TO 11! The life journey of the American oak barrel began as a home for Maker’s Mark® Bourbon until it developed a keen taste for vanilla extract. It remained loyal to both bourbon and vanilla for many years until it found its way to Broken Strings Brewery to give beer a try. Its first adventure — 6 months of slowly soaking life experience into this beautiful beer.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. This is a bourbon barrel aged vanilla stout. Vanilla dominates the nose. As the beer warms up you can pick up an extra layer of vanilla notes in the aroma from the bourbon barrels. The taste is sweet up front with a nice smooth vanilla kick midway leading to a warm finish with notes from the barrel lingering into the finish. Overall, this is really tasty.

Brewed for 11Eleven Music FEST 2018, Souvenir - Limited Edition VIP ticket holders, 22 oz. Bomber - 11% ABV, Bourbon Barrel Aged Vanilla Stout (only 111 made).
L. Is an opaque brown / black color w/ a 2" dark mocha brown foam cap, micro bubbles, amazing retention (2+ mins).
S. Nose of BOLD milk chocolate, subtle vanilla, roasted malts, and Makers Mark bourbon is present but not over powering.
T. The flavor is sweet vanilla, mild roasted chocolate malts, soft bourbon, and a very faint dried fruit component.
F. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, med to full body with average medium carbonation, semi sticky sweet finish, with lingering vanilla barrel notes.
O. NO alcohol is detected on the nose or tongue...this is a dangerously delicious beer. Well balanced flavor, not an over powering bourbon profile with noticeable stout-like qualities preserved. Easy to drink and not overly sugary or sweet for being a BA vanilla stout, nothing adjunct about this beer.
