Appearance: Pours an opaque brown black, with a thin film of dark mocha brown foam, micro-bubbles, quick fade.
Smell: Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, tiramisu cake, espresso beans, Knob Creek bourbon, subtle caramel.
Taste: Sweet vanilla, bourbon, dark chocolate, espresso, roasted malts, dark fruit, toffee, caramel, tiramisu cake.
Mouthfeel: Silky, smooth, creamy, semi sticky, medium to full body, low carbonation, mellow finish, gentle dryness with lingering barrel notes, vanilla, coffee liqueur, chocolate and tiramisu flavoring.
Overall Drinkability: The flavor is balanced, perfect level of alcohol heat from the barrel aging, only a subtle warming and none on the nose. Excellent level of sweetness, not overly sugary or lactose laden as some stouts can get. The mixture of ingredients with the 10-year Knob Creek barrel produced undertones of dark fruit even though none was added. The taste is complex, very well made with a rich coffee and dessert flavoring which makes this a perfect pastry stout. Best served at room temperature. Super Delicious!!!
