Pours a slightly hazy straw gold with a thumb and a half of white fluffy head. Retention is pretty good and the end result of break is an island of foam. Lacing is spotty but good.
Smell is a little milder than I would have expected for the number/amount of hops in this beer. I found the hops profile mellow, with traces of mango, citrus and other tropicals. Perhaps a touch of pine on the end.
Taste is also not as agressive as I would have figured. The hops dance around almost gently, giving off flavors that range from mango, to melon, to citrus and finally to a pine finish.
Feel is on the light end of medium with good carbonation. The finish is dry and bitter, and leaves you wanting more.
I have not had the other two iterations of this beer, so I cannot compare. I did like the mellowish approach of this one, and I would say that it would be easy for a few of these to go down on a nice day.

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy yellowish orange with big fluffy white head that lasts quite a while. Nice lacing all around the glass.
Aroma - Light orange and mango, nice pine, little bit of wheat. Fairly light aroma.
Taste - Very nice balance of dank fresh hops, orange, great bitter citrus peel.. Man there is alot going on in the flavor of this beer. Little straw finish, you can almost taste the hops on the finish laying on your tongue.
Feel - Medium bodied, slightly dry and bitter. Nice carbonation.
Overall - The aroma is a little light but the taste is packed full of flavor. Great beer.

Wow- picked this up on a whim and very pleasantly surprised. Nicely balanced .... personally detected a bit of west coast bitterness and clarity, which was very welcome.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a slightly hazy golden body with some sticky lacing. Nose of pineapple, orange, hay, and dank resin. Taste of pineapple, orange, and candied citrus. Nice feel, great dry finish, and overall, another fine job from the boys of Upper Pass and the crew at von Trapp. Cheers!
