So it is Friday evening after the first snow of the season and tonight I am drinking this tasty NEIPA thanks Patrick Berry for this one.
Pours a hazy yellow, with nice thin patches of lace behind. 4.25
Smell is tangerine, apricot, pineapple, passionfruit, and little grapefruit rind. 4.25
Taste follows very tropical all the way, witha little bitterness in balanced finish. 4.5
Mouthfeel is a solid medium, soft on the palate, not dry but a tad sticky from all the dry hopping, and at 6.5% it is bigger on flavor, but easy drinking. 4.5
Overall this is excellent stuff from Upper Pass Beer Co. 4.25

DATE: October 28, 2018...OCCASION: Lue gone, Hue waning--not a good sports day... GLASSWARE: Hop Devil nonick... another piece of Vermont from Jeff--thanks, friend! a hazy, opaque, dirty lemon body bearing sediment and random bubbles... its head is off-white, uneven and settling to smears... wow, this aroma is spiked with pineapple juice, mango, lemon, grass, and tropical fruits that leave the mouth watering.... some interesting tea aspects as well... any sign of balance? not much, with its bitterness squarely at the fore... its first sips are bright, chewy, tart, puckering, and alive--like jungle juice, but easy on the palate... this wins with its tropical fruit cocktail, brilliant lemon and mango, grapefruit and pineapple, acidic orange... some of the balance returns with hints of cracker, but again, this is straight-up hop hammer... not having had numbers 1-3, this will have to sit as my healthy introduction to Upper Pass... almost approaches a mead in its intensity, which makes me wonder how they pack THIS much into a 6.5% ABV...

L: Light straw with very very little head. Poured out of a can into a pint glass.
S: Citra hops throughout - along with pine and some tropical fruit.
T: Definitely full of hops. Grassy, definitely some of the pine following the hops at the beginning.
F: Despite the minimal head, this is moderately carbonated and bitter.
O: Seems like Upper Pass is brewing this one again and I was eager to try it. It is definitely hoppy but lacks some of the other subtle characteristics that many other NEIPAs have with respect to additional flavors. If you like hop-forward IPAs, this is a nice beer; at the moment, though, I'm a bit more First Drop still.

Treated as a New England styled IPA, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a pure thick hazy orange color with a small white foamy head quickly sliding off. Just some wispy lace roaming around the glass in a sly sticky fashion.
The aroma had a fantastic blend of grapefruit pith, crushed white pepper, some lemon rind and a touch of danky yet semi-sweet pine.
The flavor meshed all together semi-sweetly bringing in a sturdy bitter juiciness to envelop the entire taste. Mild aftertaste of grapefruit pith.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping to sessionable sort of character to it. Carbonation and ABV felt good. Semi-long bitter juicy finish with some pine and grapefruit.
Overall, pretty damn good as a New England styled IPA. I'd have again.
