Opted for a tulip for this guy, thinking this is a New England styled one. Not so sure, as the look seemed to be slightly lighter than the normal hazy burnt orange/yellow I'm used to. This is more of a copper color with a sly transparency about it. Slight foamy head slid off in streams along my glass.
The aroma was an odd meshing of orange pith, freshly cleaned laundry, soft piney sweetness, lemon scent, freshly cut grass and then the biscuity malts.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side blending all of the prior mentioned aromas together. Mild sticky aftertaste of orange pulpy character, soft sweet pine and lemony character.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt more towards an American IPA than a New England one (just a tad higher). The finish had a fair hoppy bitter grip to it with some sugars.
Overall, mostly good AIPA possibly worthy of coming back to.

Can. Bright copper with light haze island and ring and lace. Fruity citrus orange and pineapple aroma. Similar sweetness with medium citrus and stone fruit bitterness. Medium clean not doughy or fizzy. Wish it had a nicer head, but excellent.

16 oz. can.
Moderate pour yields a one inch white head over a slightly hazy golden body with sticky lacing. Nose of tropical fruit and sweet citrus. Taste mirrors nose nicely; smooth and delicious with a finish of orange pulp! Nice feel, super crushable, and would recommend highly. Cheers to the crews of Upper Pass Beer Co. and von Trapp for another job well done!
