For the past 149 years the Tunbridge Fair has begun 10 days after labor day and is the highlight of the year for our sleepy little town. It is only with the greatest of exceptions that the fair has to be cancelled as it was during the great pandemic of 1918 and World War II, though unfortunately an exception must be made once again for 2020. In an effort to keep the spirit of the fair alive while it takes a year-off we teamed up with our fellow Tunbridge brewery, Brocklebank, to craft a beer in order to celebrate the Fair and what it means to our community. We crafted No Fair! with a simple grain bill and a more assertive hop-profile which meshes with the brewing style of both breweries. We fermented it with a blend of both of our house yeast strains then dry-hopped it aggressively with Lotus, Amarillo, and Citra Hops. The resulting beer is pale, dry and hoppy yet light enough to be easily sessionable. We might not be able to enjoy a pint of it in the craft beer tent with you this year, but there’s always next year!
