Citra hops have been in high demand for over a decade now and for good reason. Citra hops exhibit flavors of intense grapefruit, lime and tropical fruits which by them self can create an incredible single-hop beer while also being able to pair well with many other hop varieties. Citra hops are a staple in many of our hoppy beers but we decided it was time for us to create a beer that showcased Citra in all of its available processed forms. Citra Death Ray utilizes standard Citra pellets in the boil, Incognito liquid hop extract and Co2 extracted Cryo hops in the whirlpool, then finished with 2 dry-hop rounds of new Lupomax pellets. We built Citra Death Ray to have all of the ingredients and hop treatments of our New England style IPAs but with a cleaner body and finish in order to let the Citra hops be the star of the show. We hope you have as much fun drinking this as we had making it!

16 ounce can less than a month old.
Vigorous pour yields a two inch white head over a hazy golden body with sticky lacing.
Nose of sweet citrus and tropical fruit with floral attributes coming out as well.
Taste is juicy with orange, tangerine, lemon, and tropical fruit.
Finish is slight citrus pith bitterness with a bit of peach pit.
Mouthfeel is a bit soft with medium carbonation.
Overall, this should satisfy the juicy boys among us.
Quite delicious and would recommend to all!
Cheers!!

Pellets, extract, cryo, lupomax... Its all Citra to me. And this is the love language of Upper Pass Beer Co.
Their weapon of choice is Citra Death Ray, poiuring with a cloudy, lemon-gold color before crowning with a sturdy white sheet of foam. As the expected aroma of oranges lead the way, so do complementary citrus, lighter tropical and stone fruit perfumes accompanied with a soft and creamy backdrop. It's sweet upstart is framed largely by cereal, angel-food cake and honeysuckle.
But the hops take command as soon as the ale reaches mid-palate. Their strong citrus flavors begin to outshine anything sweet or malty with their brand of tangerine, lemon, red grapefruit, mango and apricot flavors for a bright and nearly tangy hop display. Trending smoothly bitter, the late palate brings a shift toward an herbal bite of tea leaf, verbena, sassafras, fresh spruce and hemp for both balance and dryness.
Medium bodied, rounded and smooth, the hazy IPA finishes malty-dry and with a bitter leaning balance- a perfect weapon for a complete hop assault on the tatebuds.
