Canned on 12/28/21. Opened and enjoyed on 1/19/22
Lotus, Azacca, Amarillo and Mosiac hops
Not a New England IPA look, American IPA golden and nearly clear appearance with a stringy white foam.
Sweet red and tropical juicy fruits in the hoppy nose. Spicy herbal kick in a subtle fashion. Nice aromatics.
Crisp and spicy kick! Which is a nice departure from the constant flow of silky smooth NEIPA's. Sharp, stingy and spicy earth hops replace the fruits that the nose had. A subtle current of red wild fruits is there, but it's much more line a spicy, pine sap and dry earthiness in the taste.
Seriously enjoying this throwback to simpler IPA's, but with a myriad of new, tasty hops to add a very definite uniqueness.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color but has lots of fine bubbles floating in suspension that get churned up by a moderate amount of carbonation, similar to a lava lamp. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down but never completely faded away and also left thick lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose - oranges seem to stand out in particular.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a classic IPA that has a nice amount of citrusy aromas/flavors and bitterness from the hops.

Purchased at the liquor store in Manchester VT. Canned 3 weeks ago. Very nice hazy yellow pour with plenty of fruity aroma as soon as you open the can. Sniffing stone fruit and orange. Real nice. Taste is smooth smooth smooth. Googled Lotus hop and the taste is as described. Mouthfeel is near perfect in my opinion. A lot going on for only a 6.5 abv. I will definitely buy again. Upper Pass is a small shop so I’m glad they’re putting the team at Von Trapp to work with brew help. Seems like everybody wins with this one!

16 oz. can.
Canned 04/02/21.
Brewed and Canned by UPB at von Trapp Brewing in my hometown of Stowe, VT.
Moderate pour yields a one (+) inch white head over a very hazy, golden body with sticky lacing. Nose of citrus (orange, grapefruit), slight tropical fruit (papaya, mango), and a bit of berry. Taste mirrors nose very closely with berry and grape near the finish. At the very finish there is a slight citrus pith bitterness. Very interesting and quite refreshing. Nice feel and overall, a pretty unique offering and would recommend.
Cheers!
