Our Upper Valley Lager is a clean and balanced lager inspired by its European pilsner counterparts. Deceptively straightforward and infinitely drinkable, Upper Valley Lager is brewed with an uncompromising attention to detail and no shortcuts. The aroma is reminiscent of fresh baked bread with a clean herbal note. Upper Valley Lager is very approachable with a balanced bitterness, a lightly sweet and bready malt profile, and a pleasant noble hop bite.

Upper Pass totally nailed it! Not many Vermont breweries event attempt making a Czech pale lager or Pilsner. There are literally maybe 5 that have succeeded, including Upper Pass, Freak Folk, Lawson's, Drop-In and Von Trapp (as a collab with Human Robot).
It's easy to make an IPA. Our on your hipster hat, throw a bunch of random hops in, bring ABC to above 7% and call your crap delicious.
Making a solid Czech-style Pilsner (not a sucky German Pils), a Czech-style Pale ale, and a really good Kölsch-style ale is something almost all Vermont brewers struggle with.
Anyway, the color - slightly cloudy golden straw
The nose - summer, sourdough bread, happiness.
The taste - farmhouse style draft pale lager, so delicious! Not much carbonation, and that's okay. That's how you'd be drinking those beauties on tap in Czech.
The feel - medium body, very pleasant, tantalizing.
Wow, Upper Pass. Thank you. This is a worthy beer.
