Had on tap. Very astringent from the red wine barrel, almost with a slightly soured note. I love biere de garde, but this one starts to fall apart with the barrel taking over the subtle spices, yeasts and orchard fruits. The smell is the best part of the beer, with decent balance between malts, flowers, pear, nuts, and barrel, but wine is still a bit much.

11/17/18 (Chicago): 1 oz pour into FOBAB taster glass. Winner of the Silver Medal in the Strong Pale Beer category at FOBAB. Light bubbly rose colored pour. Pleasant red wine aroma. Light thin wine taste and thin mouth feel. Overall good offering.
