Aroma is standard craft lager and a hint of corn. Flavor is the same as aroma, with a mildly sweet/zesty/spicy hop finish. Not earth shattering but very solid.

From a 16oz can. Canned on February 10, 2025

This beer is fairly clear pouring and golden in color. Lots of slow rising carbonation bubbles in the glass. The head is soft looking and 2 finger. The head retention is quite good and there's just some damn sticky looking lacing in the glass.
The aroma is full on cereal grain. There's also floral hints to the aroma. Slight honey like sweetness hits my nose.
Taste - The flavor starts off with grain, though it does seem lighter than the nose suggested. There's a honey like sweetness in the middle that was more intense than the nose suggested. The finish is a nice hop bitterness that balances out the sweetness.
The body is actually full feeling for the style. The bitterness does linger in my throat. The beer is bubbly feeling.
This is quite tasty and pleasing to drink.

Pours a clear pale golden color with a big white head atop.

Unfolds aromas of rich wheat, lighter grass and a rustic, spiciness among toffee and fresh formed bread dough.

Offers a light body together with a very well developed, lively carbonation, creating an utmost, easy drinking beer.

Tastes of cream accompanied hay, mellow toffee and dry hops. The beer‘s lively, yet soft mouthfeel emphasizes its rustic, crisp and honey dipped malt backbone, vitalized by its mineralic carbonation. Finishes velvet with a noble spicy- and dryness among a subtle, noteable, slightly rustic appearing malt pillow, leaving the palate crisp and clean.

Perfect Lager beer with a fantastic mouthfeel and balance to it, while developing an intriguing depth from its very beginning.

Clear gold, soapy white head.
Smell is more minimal, light grain, mineral water, sulphur.
Tastes too sweet, nothing but malt, no hops are noticeable.
It’s so malty it feels thick in your mouth. This is not like any AAL that I’ve ever had. Not sure enjoyable at all. Glad I only got one.

Yeah - if you're like me, you look at something of this style and snicker quietly since the macro versions of this style have debased it to a large extent. Thankfully, this was good enough to snap me back into shape and make me realize how lovely these are when brewed to form. So much to love here from start to finish as this was a truly enjoyable beer that put a smile on my face!

Of course, this poured gold with a fine, hazy sediment to it as this was nicely carbonated - so much so that the bubbles rose to the top after every sip, as would be seen in a macro beer shown on a television commercial. Barley, grain, and a ton of white corn were in the nose as the taste beautifully followed suit. Pilsner malt, grain, cereal, and faint hops rounded out the taste with the end result being a beer that was bright, lively, and eye-opening. Nothing watered-down about this as it was just full enough to savor while staying true to form, while finishing as crisp as it felt on the palate.

This was a perfect session beer as I would have had another can of this afterward - had the rest of them made it home with me. Dated 7/19 on the bottom of the can, this held up amazingly well and felt as fresh as could be. It's a sin that this had to be categorized with lighter, and more popular, examples of the style that get consumed in large quantities. Riggs has a beer both true to the style and it's heartland roots here and those who discover this unexpected gem will be all the better off for coming across it!

Undated 4-pack cans, the first one was good, second one had an off note of solvent. I'm suspicious of the age, due to where I purchased it. West Pierce Liquors in Macomb, it's not the most reputable place and they definitely sell old beer. I'll give Riggs the benefit of the doubt, and go by that first can, and re-rate in the future.

2021 can. Pours a very bright gold with a dense foam. Smell is sweet corn with a hint of barley graininess. Both aroma and taste are very clean, with a light corn flavor that is enjoyable. Hops are just bitter enough to round everything out and make this a great lager. Medium body is lightened up by the carbonation.

Thanks to falloutsnow for this one, canned 8/17/20

Pours a large frothy 1+ finger head with med retention, a bit of soapy lacing, very clear light golden pilsner color

Nose brings nice grainy-sweet pilsner malt, straw, cereal, a touch of floral hop, nice malt depth

Taste brings more grainy-sweet malt, cereal grain, a little straw, light floral hops, med-light bitterness, soft layered malt thanks to the "double mash" decoction like mash, not quite the level of the good German pilsners but nice, drier crisp finish, light floral hop

Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft lager, med to a bit lighter foamy carb

Overall a nice American Lager that's bordering German Pilsner but lower hop level, malt mash was nice, lagering was done well

Hot Illinois Friday afternoon. This beer has a great appearance. Small head. Good mouth feel. Just the right amount of malt. Finish was not overwhelming. I must say it was pretty smooth.

Poured a few at Brixx Pizza in Champaign, IL. This beer is exactly what you'd expect from a good American lager.

Color was golden and a little cloudy. Flavor was right on with a nice mouth feel. Some malt flavors with very mild hops. Good stuff.
