Draft at Torst, NYC.
A- Draft pour to the signature Torst stemmed glasses with a midnight black body and a dark cocoa powder head. The cap rises to an inch high with a thick and creamy texture and good retention. Spotty lacing with a few small sheets.
S- Coffee and maple are big in the aroma alongside a great dark chocolate smell that reminds me of 85% bars with that fruity and roasty balance. Nutty, toffee, caramel and pancake notes amidst the base of roasted grains.
T- Maple becomes the lifeblood of the beer on the palate and the maple flavor profile is that of the syrup but it also brings the woodsy/earthy depth that a great maple syrup would. Medium-high sweetness overall as that massive maple flavor leads into dark fruity chocolate, espresso hints, roasted barley, bitter cocoa, toasted nuts, caramel and fudge.
MF- A thick, soft and luscious body. A creamy and smooth texture as the beer is also just a bit slick. Medium level of carbonation and a hint of bitterness in the finish.
Maple is massive with nice support from dark grains, fruity dark chocolate bars and a touch of coffee.

A: Beer pours a black body with a small amount of dark caramel colored head. Beer poured a thick syrupy consistancy. Head gives away leaving a faint amount of lacing behind while drinking.
S: Big mix of maple and coffee aromas. The coffee has a dark roast smell to it. The maple balances out the roasty coffee notes. Small amount of chocolate can be detected but mainly coffee and chocolate.
T: Coffee seems to be the prominant flavor. Roasted chocolate and caramel notes relate to the coffee. The maple addition mellows out the strong coffee flavors.
M: Very thick syrupy like mouthfeel. The taste of maple and coffee linger around after drinking. The beer clings to your mouth while drinking nicely. Best part of a nice beer, in my opinion.
O: Beer balances the heavy roast coffee feel well. Coffee taste is a bit overpowering but a good beer all together.
