We took some of our favorite 2 year old spontaneous barrels and added 1200lbs of whole blackberries to them.

2018 350ml bottle
*Revised review from original 3.75s across the board*
Ruby in color, slight ring of bubbles, short lived half finger fizzy head.
Faint scent even after warming, what little I did smell was akin to usual wild sour notes; yeast funk, some sour berry, almost cranberry juice concentrate. Really hard to pull a lot from the nose
Taste is pretty good, more raspberry or strawberry than blackberry. Cranberry lingering with yeast and some oak, more like cherry though, I figure because of the aging on blackberries.
Feel is ok if a little similar to heartburn. A slightly off putting juice consistency at times, but nothing super noticeable. Good carbonation
A decent sour, had to try again to see if my initial review was due to a bad bottle, and perhaps this bottle was too old or just not stored right as well. Either way it’s not worth seeking out, but try it if you happen upon it.

Poured a cloudy garnet with minimal pink head.
Smells very tart, oaky, not quite ripe blackberry, some funk.
Taste follows, this was much more sour than the strawberry version, tart berry, oak.
Medium bodied, very dry finish.
Overall an excellent sour. I look forward to more from American Solera.
