This is the Balcones barrel version.
This one pours a fairly dark brown color, looks kinda syrupy, with a tiny head, and no lacing.
This smells like melted high quality chocolate syrup, oak, caramelly bourbon, toffee, and dark fruit.
This is very very stout-like, as barleywines go. It's delicious though, with loads of dried raisin and other dark fruits, drippy chocolate fudge, maple syrup, coffee, and huge sweet bourbon tones. There's only a touch of oak, and doesn't do much to temper the high sweetness here.
This is quite thick, with no booziness at all, and a surprisingly high level of drinkability.
This, like basically everything this brewery does, is completely ridiculous. It works well for me.
